Italy — A collection of images from Senior Night 2012 at Italy High School and what a night it was! Italy gets a vital district win over the Gateway Gators, the award-winning Gladiator Regiment Marching Band performed at halftime and the cheerleaders kept the fans entertained throughout. Senior athletes and senior band and color guard members were honored. Good luck to the Gladiators and their support system as they go for the district title this week against Kerens and prepare for lengthy playoff run!

Senior Gladiator Cole Hopkins(9) is escorted by his parents Cassandra and Brad Hopkins. Cole will attend Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee on a basketball scholarship and plans to become a firefighter. His most memorable moment in athletics was the regional basketball tournament his sophomore year. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator Caden Jacinto(6) is escorted by his parents Vincent and Lisa Jacinto. Caden will attend junior college where he can pursue his dream to play baseball at the next level before eventually becoming a business owner in the custom millwork industry. His most memorable moment in athletics was during the 2011-12 varsity basketball season at home against Clifton when he made six 3-point shots and had 24 total points. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator Kelvin Joffre(80) is escorted by his parents Lee Joffre and Gabrielle Apa. Kelvin plans to attend the University of Texas at El Paso and become an engineer. Kelvin’s most memorable moments in athletics are hanging out with friends before each game. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator John “Squirt” Hughes(62) is escorted by Tanya Jennings and his mom Judy Hughes. John’s hobbies and interests are playing video games and hanging out with friends. His most memorable moment in athletics was watching Marvin Cox’s helmet fly off between first and second during a baseball game. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator Hayden Woods(8) is escorted by his sister, Mistiann Antunez. Hayden’s goals after graduation are to attend the Navarro Police Academy in Corsicana and become a Dallas Police Officer. His most memorable moment in athletics was during power lifting when he needed help putting on his squat suit. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator Reid Jacinto(12) is escorted by his parents Mark and Susan Jacinto. Reid’s hobbies and interests include playing baseball, video games and hanging out with friends. His most memorable moment in athletics was bus rides to and from baseball games. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator Zackery Boykin(55) is escorted by his parents Kelly and Sally Arthur. Zack plans to attend Navarro College for EMT school and become a Dallas Firefighter. His most memorable moment in athletics was as a sophomore during the Red Oak Life football game when he destroyed the punter. Ironically, but sadly, the punter was a girl. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator Marvin Cox, Jr.(3) is escorted by his mother Sharon Blackshire. Marvin plans to attend Texas State University in San Marcos and become a football coach. His most memorable moment in athletics is when he jumped over a Blooming Grove player and kept running. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator Chase Hamilton(2), the son of DeeDee and Lee Hamilton, is escorted by his uncle Mark Hamilton. Chase will attend the Military Core and become a firefighter for the Air Force. Chase’s hobbies and interests include playing video games and hanging out with friends. His most memorable moment in athletics was when Marvin Cox fell in the mud every Thursday in 7th grade. Senior Gladiator Adrian Reed(64) is escorted by his parents Brendetta and Jimmy Reed. Adrian plans to attend Houston Baptist University and become an engineer. His most memorable moment in athletics was hanging out with friends before each game. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator Ryheem Walker(10) is escorted by his mother Belinda Walker. His goals after graduation are to attend the University of North Texas at Denton and become a college football player. His most memorable moment in athletics was going out to eat with teammates before each game. (Barry Byers)

Senior Gladiator Jalarnce Jamal Lewis(21) is escorted by his mother Lavinia Smith. Jamal will attend a junior college in Georgia to play football and hopefully become an NFL football player. His most memorable moment in athletics was when he and his Gladiator teammates came together and played for each other in the Cayuga game, in which Italy won 20-16. (Barry Byers)
