Italy — With so many seniors honored during Senior Night at Willis Field, 28 in all, Italy Neotribune was compelled to include additional photos in order to capture the moment. Congratulations to our seniors and to the Gladiators who defeated the Gateway Gators 34-14 to wrap up a fun filled week at Italy High school!

2012 Homecoming King Blake Vega wears the #36 jersey once worn by his brother, Justin Hayes, while being escorted by his parents, Carlos and Lavena Vega. Blake’s hobbies and interests include drinking Dr. Peppers and flirting with girls. His most memorable moment in athletics was winning medals at the Special Olympics and being crowned Homecoming King. (Barry Byers)

Senior cheerleader Meagan Hooker is escorted by her parents Jerry and Andrea Hooker. Meagan goal’s after graduation are to attend Texas A&M University and become an Environmental Lawyer. Meagan’s hobbies and interests include hunting, spending time with her family and going to church. Her most memorable moment in athletics was cheering at the American Airlines Center her freshman year. (Barry Byers)

Senior Lady Gladiator Katie Byers is escorted by her brother, John Byers. Katie, as well as being a member of the Italy FFA, was on the cross country team this year and will be playing softball. Katie plans to attend Stephen F. Austin University and become a registered nurse. Her most memorable athletic moment was when the softball team went 13 innings against Clifton and won! (Barry Byers)

Senior Lady Gladiator Alyssa Richards is escorted by her parents Allen and Tina Richards. Alyssa will be attending Tennessee Tech University on a softball scholarship and become a softball coach and teacher, just like mom. Her most memorable moment in athletics was the 2011 softball playoff run when her team hit 5 homeruns in one game. (Barry Byers)

Senior cheerleader Morgan Cockerham is escorted by her parents Paul Cockerham and Dustie Jones. Morgan will be attending Oklahoma Baptist University and become a nonprofit organization owner.
