Tonight, is a regularly scheduled city council meeting. A public hearing for the 2008-2009 General and Water & Waste Water Budgets will be held. During the following session, the council will consider nine different items of business.

Adopting the budgets and the tax rate for 2008-2009, funding for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and an upcoming project will be discussed, and the awarding of a bid for a water line replacement project lead off the session. The council will address leave of absence for council members Greg Richards and Mark Souder Sr., both due to illness. An appointment to the Economic Development Corporation, the sale of Lloyd Street and the progress of water service with the City of Waxahachie will finish the session.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the council chamber of the Italy Municipal Building, 105 Main Street. All are welcome to attend.

The Italy City Council will hold a public Hearing regarding the 2008-2009 General Fund Budget & the 2008-2009 Water & Waster Water Budget.

The Council reserves the right to consult in closed session with the City Attorney on any posted Agenda Item pursuant to the Texas Government Code, Section 551.071 (b).

A. Discuss and consider adoption of Ordinance 080908-01 Adoption of the 2008-2009 General Fund Budget and Water and Waste Water Budgets.

B. Discuss and consider adoption of Ordinance 080908-2, the tax rate for fiscal year 2008-2009.

C. Presentation by GRANT WORKS regarding the up coming funding cycle for CDBG Grants, and action for the City Council to choose a project.

D. Discuss, consider and award bid for water line replacement project.

E. Discuss, consider, and act on approval of a leave of absence for Councilmember Greg Richards’ attending this regular meeting of the Italy city of Italy City Council, due to illness.

F. Discuss, consider, and act on approval of a leave of absence for Councilmember Mark Souder Sr. attending this regular meeting of the Italy city of Italy City Council, due to illness.

G. Discuss, consider and appoint a replacement to the Economic Development Corporation.
