“The mission of Integra Home Health Care is to be partners in health and put patient’s needs first,” explained Chrissy Guerero.

Chrissy is the marketer for Integra Home Health Care located downtown on the square in Waxahachie.

Integra Home Health Care was started 15 years ago in Lubbock, Texas. The home base is now in Waxahachie. Their goal is to give the best health care possible by going to the patient. The nurses do all of the charting on computers so at all times they can find the patient’s chart and know about their health conditions and what medications they take. This helps immensely because they take calls at all hours of day or night. So, if a patient calls at night, the nurses don’t have to run back to the office and look for their chart, all they have to do is check their computer or if they are admitted to the hospital they can give the doctors all the medications they are on and their health history. They also offer wound care, speech therapy, occupational and physical therapy. They do this all at the patient’s home.

They are affiliated with Ellis County doctors. The doctors are on a rotation list so each patient will always have a doctor if needed. They deal with Medicare patients 65 and up. Some patients have Medicare disability, and some private insurances will work with them, but it is mainly Medicare patients. The towns they cover are Italy, Milford, Avalon, Ennis, Bardwell, Ferris, Red Oak, Cedar Hill and Duncanville.

On Wednesday, September 17 the Integra Home Health Care office will we be giving flu shots until they are completely gone. Chrissy said, “Our address is 200 West Main Street in Waxahachie. The office will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Medicare is free, those with or without insurance are $25.”

She went on to say, “We will have a flu shot clinic in Italy at the Bose building on Friday, September 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the cost is the same — Medicare patients are free and with or without insurance is $25. On October 17 in Ennis at the Medicine Chest right across the street from the old hospital from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., we will also will be offering flu shots.”

Brandi Stanczak RN, is the clinical supervisor for Integra, “We are the eyes and the ears for the physician, the whole idea of home health care is to keep people out of the hospital and we can do this by seeing the patient and catching things early.”
