Lady Gladiators take win over Frost
Coaches Andi Windham and Jennifer Reeves are sporting a big smile today, because both Italy JV and Varsity won their volleyball matches against the Lady Bears from Frost this past weekend.
Highlights from the Varsity game include many ace serves (non-returnable serves) and kills (non-returnable attacks or hits):
Sr. Becca Demoss – 20 ace serves, 8 kills
Jr. Drew Windham – 8 kills, 2 ace serves
Jr. Cori Jeffords – 4 kills, 4 ace serves
Fr. Kaitlyn Rossa – 4 kills
Sr. Lindsey Brgden – 2 ace serves
Fr. Megan Richards – 5 ace serves
Coach Windham said, “It took five sets to win. The fourth and fifth games were a display of what they should look like every game. Front row got some hits down, back row passed well, servers did well, and I had some strength come off the bench. They played together, they were vocal and they supported each other. If we can muster that kind of unity every game, we will be unbeatable.”
Lady Gladiators play Tuesday night at home against Blum. The JV starts things off at 5:30.
