Image: TRE facts and figures — The tax rate increase from $1.04 to $1.17 will still be 33 cents lower than tax rates three years ago. The pamphlet says that for $102,718 in local taxes raised, “an additional $378,782 in STATE revenue” is received. If the rollback fails, the "tax rate will revert to $1.04 and Italy ISD will leave approximately $481,500 on the table each year at TEA. Maintenance and Operations needs, technology enhancements, competitive teacher salaries, and facilities and transportation improvements would be met by the increased funds.
