Do you shop at Belk’s Department Store? If you don’t now, you might change your mind when you read about the charity event they are hosting. The closest store is located on Hwy 77 near the Target in Waxahachie. On Saturday, November 15, Belk is hosting a sale to benefit First United Methodist Church of Italy and other local charities.

From 6-10 a.m. at any Belk location, this event boasts savings throughout the store only the distinctive shopper will be privy to. To participate in this exclusive shopping spree, you must have a special ticket worth $5. Not only will you be able to shop and receive up to 50% discounts on name brand merchandise, you will receive $5 off your total purchase. In other words, you receive back the money you put into it. This sale is in conjunction with the First United Methodist Church Lord’s Acre Festival, Auction and Barbecue that will be held on November 1. Festivities begin at 1 p.m. at the church located at 124 Harpold, with children activities, such as a cake walk, bounce house, ring toss and whack-a-car. And there is much, much more. There will be a barbecue dinner with W.O. Harris’ famous brisket from 5-7 p.m. The $10 dinner includes brisket, beans, potato salad, dessert and a drink. An auction with wonderful items begins at 7 p.m., with auctioneer James “Pee Wee” Carter. Everyone is invited to participate.
