The Italy Gladiator’s Homecoming game is Friday, October 24. We all know what that means — football, queens, kings, a dance, a parade, mums and garters!

Since everything is bigger and better in Texas, it is not surprising that the Lone Star State is credited with creating the most elaborate corsages known as Homecoming mums. In the 1960s these wonderful concoctions could be had for $10 — oh for the good "ole "days.

Homecoming garters, for the boys, contain a smaller version of the mums and are worn on their sleeves.

Becky Boyd and her daughter Taylor have been very busy making mums and garters. They have had a lot of fun doing this and are offering you the opportunity to purchase one.

The Magic Mirror in Italy is where you go to pick up an order form and price list from Francis and decide what you would like on your mum. All the charms are there for you to chose from. You can check out the display of Becky’s mums in Francis’ store front windows. They are beautiful.
