City hires new administrator/secretary
In a called meeting Monday night, the Italy City Council met in executive session for over an hour to discuss employee pay raises, interview a candidate for the City Administrator/Secretary position and discuss filling the position.
In open session, the council unanimously hired Terry Murdock as the new City Administrator/Secretary at a starting salary of $42,500 per year with a review in six months. Murdock will fill the position vacated by Cynthia Olguin in March of this year.
“I feel we are making a good choice,” said councilman Greg Richards.
The council also voted to give all city employees a 3% raise.
