The “Volunteer Spotlight” this month is focused on Gary Pickerill of Red Oak, Texas. After 45 years of driving a truck for Central Freight Lines, Gary retired and put his driving skills to good use delivering meals to the elderly, disabled and homebound.

If you want your clients to smile just get Gary to deliver their meals. His favorite part of delivering meals is to make the clients smile. Each time he delivers a meal his mission is to make someone laugh and feel good about themselves.

Mr. Pickerill remembers a time when he delivered a meal to a client that didn’t seem to be having a good day. Gary told the client he had a “happy meal” for him and that brought an automatic smile.

Thank you Gary for delivering meals with a smile.
