Family and friends gathered at the Uptown Cafe as the ESD #3, Italy Fire Chief, Don Chambers and Captain Jackie Cate honored the local firemen at an appreciation dinner Monday night. Also, on hand to extend appreciation was Precinct Three Ellis County Commissioner, Heath Sims and wife, Charlesa. Each volunteer was given an award for years of service.

After a wonderful meal of chicken and dressing and/or bbq brisket, homemade potato salad, the participants enjoyed cobbler for dessert. Each fireman was congratulated and appreciation for their dedication was expressed by the ESD #3 Board. Board members include Jackie Cate, Jr (President), Murrie Wainscott, Howard Morgan, James Steele and Vicente Guerrero.
