Gladiators win big over Grand Prairie Advantage

Your Fighting Italy Gladiators out skilled the Grand Prairie AA Eagles in a game that was decided by the end of the first period. Led by the marksmanship of #2 Heath Clemons, who put in 14-points in the 1st period, Italy showed no mercy by clamping down on the Eagles for a 30-7 advantage heading into the next period.

In the 2nd, Italy’s #33 Darrin Moore put in 6-points and #12 Aaron Thomas hit a 3-pointer to help the Gladiators total 19-points in the period. Grand Prairie’s #34 got on a roll as well scoring 12-points which included two, 3-pointers. Still, Italy had the game well in hand and built a 49-23 lead at the break.

The 3rd period featured Italy’s high-flying #10 John Isaac who styled in 8-points for the Gladiators. Five other Gladiators scored in the period including 2-points by #4 Diamond Rodgers (who scored 6-points total in the contest).

Italy’s defense is very good, holding the Eagles to only 5-points in the 3rd. The only Eagle highlight was a 3-pointer by Grand Prairie’s #5. Italy dominated the period 18-5 to take a 67-28 lead into the final period.

Italy’s #3 Oscar Gonzalez showcased his skills in the 4th. Gonzalez pocketed 7-points, #1 Justin Hayes made a bucket and #11 Jasenio Anderson added two of his 12-points before the 4th period expired. After the final buzzer sounded, Grand Prairie AA could hardly bear to read the scoreboard that revealed Italy’s dominance, 82-38.
