JV Boys visit Avalon…different dome same result

In the 1st period, the game had all the makings of an old fashioned Italy vs Avalon basketball royal rumble. Going into the 2nd period, the score was tied 12-12.

And then, the game headed south for the Eagles. The Italy JV ran off 28-straight unanswered points in the 2nd. The shutout gave Italy a 40-12 halftime lead.

Halftime

The situation didn’t improve for the Avalon Eagles after the halftime break. Italy’s Deandre Sephus beat the buzzer to the end the 3rd period and the Italy JV went on to win big, in that other dome, 64-27.

Deandre Sephus led the way for Italy with 17-points. Colton Campbell added 14-points along with Kyle Jackson who scored 8-points.

Coach Kyle Holley said, “Everybody played well. The starting five, the rotation players, everybody.”

The win brings the Italy Gladiators JV to an 8-2 overall record.
