Nine students from Italy High School have been chosen to perform with the Centex Band on Saturday. “The organization is composed of roughly 20 or 30 1A and 2A schools,” said Jesus Perez, proud band director at IHS. “Kids from these schools audition with 2 prepared pieces of music and sight read a third piece for a panel of three judges. The judges score the students and they are ranked. That ranking determines which students are invited to perform at the concert,” Perez explained.
