Valentine’s Chili Supper

Chili is red,
Come look at the view.
The timing is right
for beans, it’s true.

It’s cold outside
but not in here.
Donate $5 and play
games very near.

Yep, you don’t have to leave
for frolic and fun.
Just drive down the block
and leave out no one!

Games and chili have met
their match for the time.
With a wink and a smile,
you’ll save a quick dime.

Take a look at the savings
you’ll have in your purse.
Just stay in Italy and
and read out each verse.

I love you with chili
and games to play.
Come with me to Harpold Street
and see our wedding day.

That’s right! Chili for Valentine’s Day and you don’t even have to leave Italy. It’s romantic! The First United Methodist Church of Italy is inviting the community to come on over February 14 at 6:00 pm at 124 Harpold.

For $5, you will get a bowl of chili with all the fixins’ along with dessert and a big glass of tea. Of course, there will be crackers, corn chips and cornbread. You can take out or eat in. If you want to stay, there will be games to play for everyone, as well.

Don’t worry about eating chili on the most romantic day of the year. If you and your sweetie are twitterpated, it will not matter anyway. As Dr. Seuss would have said, if he were here,

I love chili in a boat
on a moat, with a goat.
When we float, I will
gloat about the tote
bag filled with money that
we saved when we stayed
in town and bought
chili.

See you there!
