It didn’t take the Italy Gladiators long to separate from the Waxahachie Advantage Eagles. Led by Darrin Moore’s 8-points (including two-3pointers), 4-points by Heath Clemons #2 and 2-points each by Diamond Rodgers #4, Dontavius Clemons #5 and John Isaac #10, Italy was already pulling away at the end of the 1st period 18-6.

In the 2nd period, Italy’s Donald Walton #21 and Oscar Gonzales #3 poured in a 3-pointer each. Jasenio Anderson #4 got on the board as well, putting in 4 of his 8-points.

Italy’s Aaron Thomas #12 dribbled the length of the floor for his 1st 2-points of the game to put the finishing touch on an explosive 1st half for the Gladiators as they led 42-16 at the break.

Halftime – The Italy Junior Varsity 15-A District Champions (undefeated in District) were honored at halftime for their effort this season.

John Isaac #10 put in 8 of his 18 points in the 3rd and Walton added another 3-pointer as Italy kept on rolling by building a 59-26 lead going into the final period of the regular season.

In the 4th period, Italy’s Thomas scored 2 of his 6-points, Clemons hit a basket, Isaac had 9-points and Rodgers added a free throw to complete the Gladiator win 68-41. Hopefully, with this win over Waxahachie Advantage, the Gladiators got Lady Momentum back on their side as they transition into the post season.
