Italy plays Menard on Friday 27th in Dublin, Texas at 7:30 p.m.

Led by #33 Darrin Moore’s 8-points (including two, 3-pointers), 7-points by #11 Jasenio Anderson and a #13 Colton Campbell 3-pointer, Italy scored 24-points in the opening period. The Chilton Pirates opened the game with a 3-pointer but Italy responded quickly and never looked back. Italy’s lead after the 1st period was 24-19 and Gladiator fans were having a good time.

In the 2nd, #10 John Isaac led the charge for the Gladiators. Isaac went for 12 of his 24-points in the period propelling Italy to a larger lead. Italy’s #3 Oscar Gonzalez, Jasenio Anderson and Moore added 4-points each as well and Italy began to sail away with the game 48-34.

Halftime

The 3rd period belonged to Italy’s #2 Heath Clemons. Clemons scored 8 of his 12-points during the 3rd, including a couple of 3-pointers. Moore added another 3-pointer as well. And well, even a one-eyed pirate could see where this was headed. Italy had out dueled their way to a 71-53 advantage as they were about to push the Pirates overboard.

In the final period, The Gladiators made a respectable 10-of-14 free throws while Chilton had their best scoring period adding 21-points to their total. Chilton’s #10 Demeris Randolph scored 8-points including two, 3-pointers in the 4th, but the damage had already been done.

Chilton’s Champion-ship hopes couldn’t stay afloat and the Italy Gladiators finished strong to claim the Bi-District treasure 87-73.

In his speech to the hands on deck (players in the locker room), Captain Holley stated, “I was very pleased with the effort we got from everyone. Our intensity was good and it was a total team effort, aaarrrrrggggghhh.”
