Dublin, Texas – Head coached by Kyle Holley, Italy grabbed their first lead of the game, at the 3:35 mark in the 1st period, to make the score 6-5. Led by Senior #5 Dontavius “D-Man” Clemons and his 8 rebounds in the 1st half, Italy was leading 14-10 after the 1st period.

McSherry made 2-of-3 free throws to give the Yellow Jacket fans something to cheer about as Menard took a 24-23 lead at the break.

Not to be outdone was Italy Senior #15 Desmond Anderson and #33 Darrin Moore as they helped Italy create 20 steals over the course of the game keeping Menard’s offense out of rhythm.

After Italy’s #2 Heath Clemons and Isaac scored off offensive rebounds, Jasenio Anderson scored with 4 seconds remaining in the period making the score 45-38 in favor of the Gladiators.
