Potential candidates can still pick up ballot packets for our area’s City and School elections. Although the election date will be Saturday, May 9, deadlines for filing applications to be placed on the ballots are fast approaching.

Positions in local city governments and school councils that are completing their term this year are listed below.

City and School Positions

Italy City Council – Last day to pick up packet is March 5th, 2009 by 5:00 p.m. for all city positions

• Rodney Guthrie – 2 year term
• Mark Souder Sr. – 2 year term
• John Droll – 1 year term

Mayor

• Frank Jackson – 2 year term

Italy ISD – Last day to pick up a school board packet is March 9th, 2009 by 5:00 p.m.

• Ricky Boyd – 3 year term
• Cheryl Owen – 3 year term

Milford ISD – Last day to pick up a school board packet is March 9th, 2009 by 4:00 p.m.

• Lisa Gates-Cox – for another 3 year term
• Renee Griffin – for another 3 year term
• Karen Powell – for another 3 year term

Milford City Council – Last day to pick up a city council packet is March 9th by 4:00 p.m.

• Bob Adamson – for another 2 year terms
• Carrie Wallace – for another 2 year term
