It didn’t take fans long to realize the Milford Bulldogs vs. Midway Falcons game would be a good one. From start to finish these two teams gave fans their money’s worth.

In the first quarter, Milford’s #0 McGruder and #21 Buckaloo each added 4 points to the score while #22 Pendleton helped his team out with 2 additional points. The Falcons didn’t sit back quietly though; they matched every Bulldog point, making the 1st period end in a tie, 10-10.

With neither team finding their rhythm, it made for a low scoring 2nd quarter. Even though the Falcons only scored 9 points in the quarter, it was enough to take the lead going into halftime. Milford scored only 8-points making the score 19-18 in Midway’s favor.

With Milford finally finding their rhythm after halftime, #0 McGruder scored 10-points and #8 Johnson scored 8-points. The Bulldogs took control of the third quarter and put a much-needed gap in the score 43-36. Midway’s #21 Cafagna’s 8-points and #33 Coker’s 7-points showed the Bulldogs that they weren’t going to give up that easily, leaving the score 43-36.

In the 4th quarter, it didn’t take the Milford Bulldogs long to realize they needed to stay calm and make their free-throws if they wanted to win this game. With both teams in the bonus for fouls, each free-throw shot counted more than ever. Midway stepped up hitting 2 of 4 free-throws, but it wasn’t enough to match Milford’s 8 of 12. Led by #0 McGruder, #10 Davis, #13 Williamson, and #23, who all scored 4-points each, the Milford Bulldogs went on to win the game 59-49.
