Obituary: Frances Jane Grayson, 1925 – 2009
Frances Jane Grayson, 83, of Hillsboro died Thursday, March 5 at her residence. She was born June 28, 1925 in Italy, daughter of Burley E. and Nellie Griffis Wiles, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1942.
On July 13, 1946, she married Curtis Grayson, and he preceded her in death December 10, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents; and one sister, Mary Nell Whitson.
For a while, she worked for T.P & L. In 1963, she and her husband became co-owners of Itasca Nursing Home and Hill Haven Nursing Home of Hillsboro and in 1969, Park Plaza Nursing Home of Whitney. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and raising Quarterhorses. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hillsboro.
Survivors include: two children, Dudley Grayson and wife, Jan, and Rosemary Lee and husband, Jim, all of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Clay Grayson and wife, Laura, of Hillsboro, Kim Bowling of Abbott, Stephanie Falkoff and husband, David, of Aubrey and Steven Macon and wife, Gloria, of Waxahachie; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. March 7 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Troy Sykes of Brushie Baptist Church officiating. Burial was at Ridge Park Cemetery.
