Just because it’s Spring Break, that doesn’t mean certain people are slacking. Some youth of Central Baptist Church and youth director, Chris Talleri, volunteered their time to help with food distribution at the local food pantry on Monday.

Along with other churches represented, the youth worked with paperwork, separated and reorganized food and gave generously of their time. Talleri explained, “As we are approaching our Disciple Now (event filled weekend for youth) on April 3-5 our theme is ‘Love is a Verb’ and I wanted to give them an opportunity to experience showing Christ’s love through action and not only through learning about the Bible. The opportunity was presented and they responded with a loving heart and a gentle spirit as they helped hand out flyers and deliver food to people in need.” Over 15 people in the Italy community were served this week.

IMA only helps with food and pastoral needs; however, if you need monetary assistance, call Waxahachie Care at 972-923-2273. If you know of someone that could benefit from the Italy Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, the next distribution day will be Monday, April 6, 5pm-8pm at the First United Methodist Church, 124 Harpold. Their phone number is 972-483-6335.
