The GMA (Girls Missionary Auxiliary) group from First Baptist Italy took a trip to Gary, Texas this past weekend to attend the State GMA house party at Daniel Springs Baptist Encampment. These girls began the program back in the fall of 2008 and there are almost 20 girls ranging from fourth grade through high school who are a part of it. The theme of camp this year was Don’t Get Lost in the Woods.

Each church was asked to create a map of how they would find their way out of the woods. The girls of FBC Italy won first place with their map and also had the most people in attendance among churches from all over the state. This was a great learning experience for the girls, who were able to see the Miss GMA and Junior Miss GMA be crowned as well as the new officers being selected for the next year.

Back in Italy on Sunday morning, each of the girls received their GMA pin. They earned this pin by attending GMA classes for three consecutive Sundays. They will receive more pins as they work through the steps, and complete memory work.

These girls are very excited, and are now going to start raising money with hopes to attend the National GMA camp in June.
