Alvin and Mayme Onstad, long time residents of Italy, Texas hope to start a new business. This couple has come up with a way to cut their electric bill in half.

Mayme Onstad was getting really tired of paying high electric bills. Mayme and Alvin live in a very nice but older home. Mayme started praying about what they could do to lower their heating and cooling cost. The word insulator came to mind and with a little more thought and determination they came up with what they call a “Wind Insulator.”

A Wind Insulator is a wooden frame made out of lumber and recycled plastic. “The idea is to cover your windows with the Wind Insulators where the wind hits the hardest and the sun is the hottest,” said Mayme.

They have had their Wind Insulators installed for a couple of months at their home and have reduced their heating and cooling cost by half.

“I believe the Wind Insulator will keep the sun from coming in so strong and keep the wind from coming in. With the plastic cover you still receive light but looking out of the window with the Wind Insulator installed is like looking through fog. So you want to install the Wind Insulators where they are not covering up a good view.”

The cost on the Wind Insulators are :
Small – $20.00
Medium – $25.00
Large – $50.00 (or more depending on the size of window)

The small size is for small windows such as in your kitchen or bathrooms. The medium size is for bedrooms and the large size is for large living room windows.
