Saturday night around 6:00 Mount Zion AME Church was filled with people, music and fun. The Musical workshop was in full swing.

The program began with praise and worship with members of Joy Tabernacle from Dallas, Texas. They sang songs such as My Name is Victory and It Feels Like Heaven – Yes It Does, just to name a couple. Pastor Mittie C. Muse Jr. (pastor of Mount Zion AME Church) said, “Today we have musicians and music workshop clinician Octavius Fair, from Carver Heights Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. They have taught the youth choir a lot of their songs that are being sung tonight.”

Joy Tabernacle is a start up church in the Dallas area. Their pastor is Michael W. Waters. “Pastor Waters is a good friend of mine. Joy Tabernacle sent a portion of their church to our praise and worship program to represent their church,” explained Pastor Muse.

Pastor Muse explained, “The kids in the choir are from different churches in the community. Mount Gilead and Mount Moriah of Milford are here. It is a nice mixture.”

Terri Strambler is Mount Zion’s musician and was responsible for putting together the Musical Workshop. “My musician, Terri Strambler put all of this together. I am just here reaping all the benefits of her great work,” explained Pastor Muse.

Pastor Muse is a relatively new Pastor to Mount Zion AME Church and said, “I have been here since this past November. I love Italy. It is a nice community and the church is full of wonderful people. I am enjoying it here.”

Saturday night the “Joy of the Lord” was definitely felt at Mount Zion AME Church.
