Timoteo G. Riojas, 93 of Italy, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Trinity Mission in Italy. He was born to the late Celestino and Justa Garza Riojas on January 22, 1916 in Rio Grande City, Texas.

Tim loved working with his hands and working outside. He loved volunteering his time and working at the Epiphany Catholic Church in Italy. He was a good teacher and carpenter. Tim loved his family and worked very hard to provide for each of them. His children and grandchildren have fond memories of riding into town with him on his tractor. He was a great father and grandfather and will be missed by so many who knew him and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Evelia Pena, and Erma Martinez; his son, Ernie Riojas; his daughter-in-law, Emma Riojas; son-in-law, Joe Jacinto, Sr; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Riojas; his son, Jessie Riojas, Sr.; his daughter, Enedelia Jacinto; his great granddaughters, Alisa Villarreal and Enelyse Jacinto.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Epiphany Catholic Church with Father Jose Luis Ortega serving as Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Italy Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home with a rosary prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
