Gladiator Football Camp 2009 takes place July 27-29 — Before you can take the field, you should take advantage of the Gladiator Football Camp 2009 that takes place July 27-29, and get an edge on the competition. (Anne Sutherland)
The football coaching staff from Italy High School is excited to announce that they will be conducting a three day football camp in July for all students entering 5th grade through 9th grade. Camp will be held on the Italy High School practice fields.
With the 5th and 6th graders, there will be a focus on fundamentals of football skills. The youngsters will get direction and then the time to practice their skills of throwing, catching, punting and kicking a football properly. They will also get to participate in games that will be refereed by the coaching staff. Their camp will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
The 7th through 9th graders will be more of a practice situation in which the athletes will be introduced to the Gladiator coaching staff and the style and techniques that will be used both offensively and defensively during the upcoming football season. Their camp will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
All athletes are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing for the hot days. They will be provided with water throughout the camp and cold drinks and snacks at the end of camp each day. Athletes will also receive a T-shirt at the end of camp.
