The Milford Depot will soon be in use again
Back in 1926 the Dallas – Waco electric interurban rail road had reached Milford Texas. Milford began a slow decline due to the depression and in 1948-49 the railroad was closed down.
Thanks to P. J. Leible of Milford, the depot will be up and running again, only this time it will be a restaurant. It seems very appropriate that this restaurant will be named ‘Milford Depot’ considering the fact that it is the original train station depot for the Dallas- Waco interurban train lines.
Leible has been renovating this building and hopes to be open for business no later than September. ‘Milford Depot’ will be serving breakfast and lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to start out with. Once they really are in full swing they will be open Monday thru Saturday for breakfast and lunch and open Friday and Saturday for dinner.
P. J. said, “I am really excited to be able to renovate the old train depot and be able to save it. I bought it eight years ago and am really excited to save a little bit of Milford history while having a business at the same time.”
