Day 3 of the IYAA hosted 8 & Under Girls Softball Tournament (Coach pitch) saw area teams continuing to improve their standings in the bracket.

Hillsboro, Milford and Frost had the most success and were the final three teams to return on Friday to decide the Championship.

Hillsboro created a whirlwind of momentum for themselves and were set to play Milford in the first game on Friday to decide who would compete against Frost for the Championship in the second game.

All three teams have automatically qualified for the State Tournament in two weeks in Lindale, Texas.

Frost led by Alyssa Scea’s 2-homeruns, came from behind to defeat the Rice Brats thanks to the game winner knocked in by Lacy Mott (an Italy player picked up by Frost) on Thursday.

The dramatic win catapulted Frost into the District Tournament Championship Game on Friday.
