This weeks Gladiator Football Camp gave the best young talent from the area a chance to sharpen their skills under the tutelage of Italy High School Head Football Coach Craig Bales and his staff.

Students in fifth through ninth grades enjoyed the opportunity to learn the finer details of punting, passing, receiving and carrying the football from the Italy Gladiator Varsity Coaching Staff.

Coaches Bales, Robert Sollers and Stephen Coleman spent quality time teaching the kids proper line blocking techniques and improving their tackling form.

Coaches Kyle Holley, Josh Ward and Matt Coker worked with the skill positions teaching proper handoff technique and passing footwork to the quarterbacks as well as route running to the slot and wide receivers.

The camp was upbeat and the kids had fun applying their new found abilities. Coach Bales was all smiles when he said, “The camp was blast and the kids are working really hard. Plus we’ve had a really consistent turnout in the weight room over the summer and I’m really excited about that.”

On the final day, all the campers put their skills to the test by competing in a punt, pass, kick and long snap competition followed by one final game of a Shirts vs. Skins football game.
