Best Choice for Me
When Steve Varner was ten years old he really wanted to be a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys but instead became a business owner.
Steve Varner has owned the Varner Fina for thirty one years. He worked there for one year, decided to get married and bought the station. “I am very happy with my choice to purchase the station. It is job security-you will be the last to go!,” explained Varner.
When asked how his business was doing through our slow economic times, Steve said, “You get out of it what you put into it. So far so good.”
Varner has four employees: Randy Boyd is his right hand man, Ernest Smith works in the garage, Emily Langley is a part time cashier and book keeper, and Cristie Enriquez is a part time cashier.
Varner’s Fina can sell you tires, gas, help you with oil changes, and state inspections. When you are thirsty or need a snack, just go inside and check out their convience store.
When asked how he liked owning his business in Italy he replied, " It is the best. Italy customers are loyal. I grew up in Italy and when people move off, often times they come back and visit me at the station and catch up. It is home. "
