Obituary: Samantha Michelle “Shelley” Nance, 1989-2009
This loving young soul was taken away too early from us, Samantha Michelle (Shelley) Nance, went to be with the lord on Sept. 11, 2009. Shelley was an award winning artist. She was a student at the Art Institute of Dallas. She was majoring in multi-media arts and animation.
She loved animals, computers, and anything to do with art. This 20 yr old woman was well on her way to achieving her life’s dreams of being an artist.
Shelley was a 2007 graduate of Italy High School. She might not have been the most popular student at Italy High, but she knew what she wanted to do with her life. As Shelley once said “I am off in my own world while of the rest face reality.”
She was a free spirited young woman.
Shelley was a member of Central Baptist Church in Italy, Texas.
Shelley was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, and niece. This precious angel will always be loved and missed by anyone and everyone who knew her.

Shelley is survived by her Mom and Dad, Cynthia and Sam Nance of Italy; her sisters, Rachel David and her husband Garrett, and their son Garrett of Waxahachie, Shauna B. Nance of Arlington; maternal grandparents, Cecil Ray Wafer, Sr. and Norma of Waxahachie; paternal grandparents, David and Dorothy Nance of Waxahachie; aunts and uncles, Cecil Wafer, Jr. of Alvarado, Kim Wafer of Midlothian, Johnny Wafer of Waxahachie, Calvin Wafer and Alana of Glenn Heights, Danny Wafer of Ennis, Terry Wafer and Paula of Alvarado, Larry Wafer and Linda of Italy, Billy Wafer and Robin of Italy, Christina Wafer of Red Oak, Jonathan Wafer of College Station, Sharon and Luther Davis of Wilmer, and Carol DeCorte of Palmer; and numerous cousins.
Services to celebrate Shelley’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Central Baptist Church in Italy, Texas with Pastor Todd Gray officiating. Interment will follow at the Forreston Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
The family has asked that donations be made to the Shelley Nance Memorial Class of 2007 Fund in care of Citizens National Bank, P. O. Box 717, Waxahachie, Texas 75165.
