On Monday night, the Italy Park Board met at 6:30 in the Council Chambers and discussed the Italy Christmas Festival slated for December 5.

After call to order, the roll call was completed. In attendance was Stephanie Wilson, Clover Stiles, Jason Escamilla, Janet Campbell, Bruce Utley and Lisa Mott. Not in attendance was Susan Harris. Ronda Cockerham took minutes. This was a planning session. It was noted that Clover and Tina Haight helped develop the Festival last year. Stiles has many ideas and contacts to contribute to this year’s group. She had a list of duties performed last year and recommendations for this year’s Festival, which included dividing the duties into committees. Stiles, Haight and Janet Campbell will remain consultants for this year’s Festival. And after much discussion about the Festival and festivities included, committee heads were decided, as well as times, location and activities. Martha Norcross will direct the live nativity.

Saturday, December 5
Lions Club Pancake Breakfast- Wayne Boze Building on Main Street 7:00 am – 10:00 am
Vendor check in/set up- Uptown Cafe 7:00 am – 9:00 am
Festival with vendors on Main Street 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Parade on Main Street 10:00 am

Sunday, December 6
Live nativity in the Cornerstone parking lot 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Tree lighting/hot chocolate at the marquee on Main Street
Italy Ministerial Alliance service on the stage near City Hall

The next scheduled meeting for the Park Board will be Monday, November 2 at 6:30 in the Council Chambers. This is one day before the election.
