Joe Coffman, age 68, of Italy, passed away at his home Thursday evening, November 12, 2009. He was born July 15, 1941 in Adona, Arkansas to Lawson and Annie (Fischer) Coffman. Joe had lived in Italy for 34 years and been employed with Chaparral Steel for 28 years. He married Janet McNeely on January 15, 1982 in Italy. Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening and country music.

Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Janet Coffman of Italy; his mother, Annie Becker of Bismarck, MO; children, Paula Coffman, Vicki Coffman, Michele Garner all of Italy and Tracy McClung of Waxahachie; brothers, Larry Hanes of Bismarck, MO, Roy Hanes of Waxahachie, Ronnie Hanes of Farmington, MO, Fred Becker of Tyler and Paul Becker of Bismarck, MO; sisters, Carolyn Callahan of Bismarck, MO, Vera Emily of Middletown, MO and Wanda Faye Eye of Bismarck, MO; six grandchildren, Joseph Mack Pitts, Frank Garner IV, David Garner, Dustin Dunlevy, Jeana Ballew and Jennifer McDaniel. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Lawson Coffman and sister, Ruby Hanes.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy with Reverend Ronnie Dabney officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jackie Smallwood, Lee Goodwin, Earl Goodwin, Jason Hanes, Wendall Helms and Chris Titsworth. Interment will follow at the Italy Cemetery.
