We The People
I would like to begin by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and may the Peace of Christ be on you all.
What country is this that we live in today? This is not the country that we were taught about in history nor is it the country that our Fathers and Grandfathers fought and died for. We have allowed our system of government that was established of the people, by the people and for the people to vanish in front of our eyes. The system we have today is of the government/special interest, for the government/special interest and by the people and no one wants to admit it.
We have been dumbed down to believe our voices mean nothing and have become too fat, lazy and comfortable in our surroundings, so busy in our own lives that we have literally let the “wolf in the hen house." What is it going to take for “We the People” to wake up and remember whose country this is? What is it going to take for “We the People” to stand up and be accounted for and not for ourselves today but for future generations.
We have a President that lives as the lead actor in a Disney fairy tale movie and believes we can just print more money and borrow from the Chinese and all will be well. He believes that our nation is not a Biblical God fearing nation and, by that statement alone, must not believe the words found in our Declaration of Independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. He believes in global warming and has traveled more miles, spending more tax payer money and burned more fossil fuel in his first year than any President before him. Our President has proved that he does not believe in American Freedom by apologizing around the world to our enemies for our belief that all men should be free.
We have a Congress that has lost touch with reality and live as co-stars in the same Disney fairy tale movie. “We the People” have spoken against the bailouts and healthcare and they ignore the masses. While “We the People” are going deeper in debt, losing homes, jobs and freedom the Republicans are in Washington with a soft politically correct voice speaking against government bailouts, healthcare, cap/trade and larger government and the Democrats continue buying votes with entitlement programs, ignoring the constitution, and moving forward.
Where are the loud shouts from the elected opposition and why aren’t slick parliamentary procedures being used to stop the downfall of America? Is the opposition really supporting the President and just voting no because they believe their vote won’t matter and it will look good to their constituents? Heck our local congressman is so worried about “We the People” that he is introducing legislation to force college football to have a playoff system. Wow!
Are we going to sit idly by and let the freedoms our Fathers, Grandfathers and founding Fathers died for to be taken away? Is being complacent, selfish and lazy worth the loss of personal freedoms? Do we really want everyone to look alike, dress alike and work for the government? If so, then America is done and we are all just extras in the Disney fairy tale movie world.
Read the Declaration of Independence, get involved and do not just vote because you have the right. Study the issue or candidate and vote because of your homework, not your neighbors. Vote for the survival of freedom of the people.
I will end with a quote from Proverbs 24:30-34, “I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.”
