Easter egg fun for everyone

The Park Board of Italy met on Tuesday night and discussed the upcoming Mayor’s Easter Egg Hunt. As a quorum of board members was not met this meeting was just discussion only. The egg hunt is slated for Saturday, April 3 and the Park Board is calling for volunteers and donations.

Elementary age children have delighted in hunting for stuffed eggs for several years at the local library. This year will be no exception. The Park Board plans to have at least as many eggs to hunt as in the past. Last year totaled around 5000.

If you are interested in donating individually wrapped candy, plastic eggs, money or your time, please contact Ronda Cockerham, the Assistant City Secretary at City Hall. The Park Board will begin accepting donations Monday, Feb. 8 and will continue until March 26. For more information, call City Hall at 972-483-7329, ext 103.

The Park Board meets on the first Tuesday of every month in the council chambers at City Hall. This meeting is open to the public.
