Run-off information posted

A run-off election will be held on April 13, 2010 in three primary election races affecting Ellis County voters.

Republican candidates Steve Burnett and Steve Egan will face off in their contest for the office of Justice of the Peace, Ellis County precinct 4. In the race for the bench in the 40th District Court, Republicans Cindy Ermatinger and Bob Carroll, the top two vote-getters in the March 2 primary, will be on the run-off ballot.

Regionally, there is also a run-off in the race for Justice of the Supreme Court, Place 3, to be decided between Debra Lehrmann and Jim Moseley.

There is no run-off scheduled in the Democratic primary, and plans are yet to be announced with regard to replacing Kip Averitt on the November ballot for State Senator.

Early voting for the April 13 run-off will take place on April 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ellis County Elections/Voter Registration Office. The office is located at 106 S. Monroe Street in Waxahachie.

Polling places for election day include two locations in Midlothian, one location in Red Oak, one location in Ferris, one location in Palmer, four locations in Waxahachie, two locations in Ennis, one location in Bardwell, one location in Italy, and one location in Maypearl.
