The Italy Junior High Track Team received their medals previously earned at the Gateway Track Meet on March 12 from Coach Stephen Coleman on Thursday.

The IJH Track Team dominated all four divisions: 7th Girls, 7th Boys, 8th Girls and 8th Boys at the Gateway meet.

Coach Coleman dished out compliments almost as fast as the kids sprinted around the track by saying, “I’ve never seen a track team win all four divisions at a meet, it was quite an accomplishment. We have the hardest working group of Junior High girls in the state, believe it. The boys have a nice balance of speed and power and have been eager to put in the extra work after practice to improve their skills. Everyone’s commitment showed at Gateway and I’m just really proud of the kids.”

“We went to Dallas just hoping to do well and we came back the champs,” stated Tristan Smithwick.
