Avalon Baptist bake sale to assist 24 youngsters going to camp

Today, in front of the Uptown Cafe in downtown Italy, the Avalon Baptist Church is having a bake sale to raise money to fund a trip for 24 of their youngsters hoping to go to church camp at the Heart of Texas Baptist Encampment in Brownwood, Texas June 28 thru July 2.

The church fund raising goal is 5,000 dollars so be sure to stop by the Avalon Baptist booth today and help their fund raising efforts.

The Avalon Baptist Youth Mininsters are Christie and Eric Enriquez. In regards to the bake sale, Eric said, “We’ve never had this many kids wanting to experience church camp before. We are very excited about their interest. With 24 kids expecting to go, not only will we be renting an extra bus, since our current bus only holds 14, we need to make a deposit to reserve housing for everyone. Each kid was required to supply a cake for the sale today but we also have cupcakes, cookies, rice-krispie treats and more.”
