In a special-called meeting of the Ellis County Commissioners’ Court on Monday, May 3, 2010, Commissioners voted to award the contract for 2010 emulsion asphalt to ERGON Asphalt of Austin, Texas.

The contract includes 90-day renewal options for up to three years providing there is no price increase.

Commissioners previously rejected the single bid that had been received, directing the Purchasing Agent to re-bid the commodity with a shorter contract duration to better allow for fluctuation in price in hopes of encouraging additional bids.
