Obituary: Ray A. Scott, 1938 – 2010
Ray A. Scott, age 72, of Irene, was born in Waxahachie on April 28, 1938 to Gertie Bell and Oscar Lee Scott. He passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 at his home. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Calhoun of Irene; four sons, Dean Allen Scott and wife Freda of Achille, Oklahoma, Bradlee Allen Scott and wife Lanie, Charles Wayne Scott and wife Keri all of Bynum and Robert Calhoun of Deer Park; six daughters, Teresa Scott of Caddo, Oklahoma, Donna Geuder and husband George of Leander, Texas, Terri Cash of Kansas City, Missouri, Barbara Calhoun of Arlington, Denise DeArmond of Fort Worth and Debbie DeArmond of Grapevine; 39 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother, Buster Scott of Kaufman and three sisters, Laura Bell Hopgood of Cedar Creek, Joyce Jenkins of DeSoto and Helen Cole of Dallas; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dwayne and Harold Scot and two sisters, Dorothy Perkins and Jewel Cox.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
Funeral services will be 4 PM Thursday, May 6, 2010 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie with Reverend Edward Sumrall officiating.
Interment will follow at Italy Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jed Weeks, Steven Weeks, Richard Calhoun, Joey Williams, Chris Harp, Tim Scott, John Greer and Ricky Custer.
