The First Baptist Church Women’s Missionary Auxiliary (WMA) is collecting items for Christmas Shoebox Gifts, a project of Children Helping Children, a division of Baptist Medical Missions International (BMMI). Filled with small gifts such as toys, crayons, and basic hygiene items, these shoeboxes will be used to minister to children in countries where families can only afford the bare necessities of everyday living. These gifts make children smile…and bring with them the possibility of creating an “everlasting” smile by opening a door to share the love of Jesus Christ with the children and their families.

If you would like to join us in “Making Everlasting Smiles” please pick up a shoebox from the FBC foyer, along with a list of items needed. Fill the shoebox with the needed items. Wrap the shoebox and return to the WMA.

Money donations are also accepted. WMA will purchase the items and wrap the shoebox if you prefer. Please include $5.00 for each shoebox to cover the cost of shipping. Any excess will be used for medicines or other immediate needs in BMMI projects. This year’s Christmas Shoeboxes will be destined for Armenia and El Salvador.

The WMA welcomes all contributions and involvement in this very worthy cause. Please contact Sandra Graves at [email protected] or (972)483-6469 if you have any questions.

All shoeboxes are needed by August 1, 2010. Visit First Baptist Church online at http://www.fbcitaly.org.
