Replacement home needed for Ilona from Germany

A caring host family (with or without children) is needed to provide food, a bed and a loving home to Ilona from Germany. She was looking forward to her school year in Milford Texas and is scheduled to arrive on August 21st. Her initial host family had to cancel and it would be great if another family would take their place and welcome her in their home. Ilona is 15-years-old and will be entering the 10th grade.

Ilona’s interests include square dancing (her teacher is from Texas), meeting with friends, going to the movies, listening to music, photography, reading and watching TV. She also enjoys table tennis, bicycling, horseback riding, swimming and skiing. She is in the drama club at school. She likes learning languages and English is her favorite subject at school with Latin and biology.

In the future, she would like a career in education or law. She describes herself as a bit shy, friendly, polite and adaptable.

She is looking forward to improving her English, developing international friendships and living with an American family not as a tourist but as a family member.

All EMF students have medical insurance, spending money for their personal expenses and expect to share their host family’s daily life including household responsibilities. They speak English, are well-screened and eager to experience life in America. Their stay here is sponsored and supervised by EMF (Educational Merit Foundation), a non-profit, educational exchange program.
