The event will be held on Thursday, September 16 at Cleburne Golf Links. “Early bird” registration at $125 per golfer will be available until Friday, August 27. After Friday, the price will increase by $25.

“We encourage you to be sure you get your registration in soon,” said Meals-on-Wheels director of development, Amy Jackson. Registration can be done online at www.servingthechildrenofyesterday.org or by contacting the Meals-on-Wheels offices.

There will be morning and afternoon shotgun starts at 7:30 AM and 1:30 PM, and will follow a four player scramble format. Each player’s entry fee includes green fee, ½ cart, a t-shirt, 2 mulligans, 2 raffle tickets, cold drinks and food throughout the day—and chances at $5,000 in prizes!

Raffle ticket sales will also begin to the public on August 16. They are $5 each or 5 for $20 for chances to win Southwest Airline tickets, sporting event tickets, gifts from local businesses and restaurants, and MUCH more! These tickets may be bought online at www.servingthechildrenofyesterday.org or by contacting the Meals-on-Wheels offices.

The Golf Benefit presented by Community Bank is Meals-on-Wheels’ signature event, and the community looks forward to it every year, according to Ike Vera, Golf Chairman. “Each year we strive to make the Benefit special, and this year will not be any different, as we are pleased to be returning to the new Cleburne course. We have great giveaways, food, and cash prizes,” he added, “but most importantly, when you participate, Meals-on-Wheels benefits!”

The Golf Benefit’s proceeds, raised from golfers and sponsorships, will help Meals-on-Wheels provide over 280,000 meals for the elderly and disabled residents throughout Johnson & Ellis County.
