The Lady Gladiators and the Lady Eagles clashed on Tuesday night at the dome. Two strong teams came together for another pre-season game and walked away with almost identical scores. The audience sat on the edge of their seats for these games.

Italy Volleyball is as strong as it ever was-so it is in Avalon. Both groups of ladies took to the floor and watching every spike, dig, block and serve, the score came close several times. Direct serves and accurate hits were key to all the games and the front and back lines were steady and strong. As long as the ball was in the air the Lady Gladiators and Lady Eagles continued to battle until the end.

Head Coach Tony Hernandez and the Lady Eagles walked away tired and ahead but knowing they had threatened a good competitor. They took the best 3 out of 5 games. Game scores: #1 Italy 25-Avalon 20; #2 Italy 25-Avalon 18; #3 Avalon 25-Italy 11; #4 Avalon 26-Italy 24 and #5 Avalon 15- Italy 8.

Italy JV played as well. With one win and two losses, the Lady Gladiators are ready for the next competition. Scores were Game #1 Avalon 25-Italy 22; Game #2 Italy 25-Avalon 9; Game #3 Avalon 15-Italy 13.
