A caring host family (with or without children) is needed to provide food, a bed and a loving home to 16-year-old Pauline from Germany. She was looking forward to her school year in America and hoped to arrive in August, but there is a shortage of host families and she has been unable to find a placement home. If a home is not found by August 27th, she will not get to fulfill her dream of experiencing America.

Pauline is from Kürten, Germany a small village close from Cologne. She will be staying for the 2010-2011 school year. Her father is an automotive engineer and her mother owns a small shoe store. Pauline plays soccer twice a week and is part of a team. She also like music and plays the guitar and piano. She enjoys reading, baking, horseback riding, hiking, swimming and watching Grey’s Anatomy with her mother. Her favorite subjects in school are English, German, biology and music. Pauline is a very good student and in the top 10 % of her class. She has been elected to be the vice president of the student council and enjoys it. She describes herself as adaptable, extroverted, flexible, friendly, open and tolerant.. She would like to come to the US to improve her English skills and meet new people.

All Educational Merit Foundation students have medical insurance, spending money for their personal expenses and expect to share their host family’s daily life including household responsibilities. They speak English, are well-screened and eager to experience life in America. Their stay here is sponsored and supervised by EMF (Educational Merit Foundation), a non-profit, educational exchange program.
