Lady Gladiators take 3rd in Dawson hosted volleyball tournament

Dawson – The Italy Lady Gladiators competed in a volleyball tournament in Dawson this past weekend. The pool games were on Friday and Italy won all of their pool games excluding one loss to Dawson. The effort allowed Italy to be the first seed going into Saturday’s action.
Italy’s first game was against Abbott. A Lady Gladiator win would have given Italy a spot in the tournament championship but Abbott came out victorious. The loss to Abbott put Italy back into bracket play where they had to challenge for 3rd or 4th place.
The Lady Gladiators defeated Milford and finished the tournament in 3rd place. The host team, Dawson won the championship and Abbott placed 2nd. Milford, Frost and Bynum filled in the remaining slots.
