Labor Day is just around the corner. In fact, Monday, September 6 is next week. The Italy Ministerial Alliance is announcing the local food pantry will still be open from 5:00-8:00 pm on the holiday.

The Italy food pantry is located at 124 Harpold, the First United Methodist Church. Supported by all the local churches, the pantry helps those in need residing in Italy.

If you know of someone needing some additional food for the month, please direct them to the food pantry on Monday. They would need to bring a local water bill, drivers license or Texas ID and fill out some forms when they arrive. There is no need to fill out paperwork if someone is already signed up this year.

The Italy Ministerial Alliance has been instrumental with several activities locally. Besides hosting the Italy food pantry, Christmas food delivery is held the weekend before December 25. The IMA also helps with the downtown Christmas tree lighting, Easter Sunrise Service and the annual Italy High School baccalaureate.

Help support the Alliance with your time, prayers, non-perishable food or monetary donations. Contact Central Baptist Church at 972-483-7474 for more details.
