James Marvin Helms, age 53, of Italy, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Waxahachie. He was born March 14, 1957 in Waxahachie to James Wendell Helms and Norma Sue Cates. James Marvin was formerly employed with H & H Oil in Waxahachie as a construction superintendant and Estes Electric as a master electrician. He loved building and racing dragsters. James Marvin was a loving son, father, grandfather and brother.

Survivors include his daughter, Colleen Helms of Waxahachie; son, Brad Grassmuck and his wife Angela of Little Elm; two grandchildren, Arabella and Brandon Grassmuck of Little Elm; mother, Norma Sue Cates of Italy; father, James Wendell Helms and his wife Linda of Italy; two brothers, Wendell Lee Helms and his wife Dolores of Waxahachie and Terry Wayne Helms and Tina of Malakoff; the mother of his children, Renee Loper of Waxahachie; several aunts and uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Memorial services will be 7PM Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Italy with Chaplain Gregg Burdette officiating.
