Court Approves Construction Changes
First matter on the Ellis County Commissioners’ Court agenda was to approve a change order for a contract with Prime, Inc., who constructed the Sub-Courthouse in Ennis. The change order is for an additional $6000 needed to cover unplanned costs involving an electrical entrance.
Professional engineering services from General Datatech, L.P., needed to help implement hardware for data networking and telecom for CSCD/ Emergency Management was the second item approved by the Commissioners’ Court. The services will help to program phones and other equipment already in place at the I-35E building.
“We can now have everything done at that location by next Friday,” Teral Crawford, Ellis County MIS Director said.
Third item on Friday’s agenda was to approve moving the personnel and budget of the County’s IT Department from the County Auditor’s Department to the office of the County Judge.
Also on the agenda, were several bids concerning the selling and relocation of several Ellis County items. First bid concerned declaring some doors, frames, and windows from the County’s Hwy. 77 location as surplus, so that all those items could be disposed. The Court decided to take no action on that bid. The next bid involves moving several items and the Adult Probation department from their current location at 1201 N. Hwy 77 in Waxahachie, to a new location on Clift Street in Waxahachie. That bid was approved. The next bid was approved for the demolition of the interior at the 1201 N. Hwy 77 location. No action was taken on the final two bids, on the Court’s agenda which focused on the selling of walls, partitions, cubicles, doors and windows from the Hwy. 77 building.
